Japanese sauna (Vital Dôme)
The new-generation Japanese sauna: an infrared dome, lying down, which heats the body deep down and induces perspiration.

What is the Japanese sauna (Vital Dôme)?
Unlike a traditional sauna, the Vital Dôme uses infrared to heat the body deep down. The heat brings on perspiration from the whole body, and not only from the surface of the skin.
At Maison Minceur, we use it in particular to encourage perspiration, relaxation and well-being, but also in protocols addressing water retention, the appearance of cellulite and the quality of the skin.
How a session unfolds
From 20 to 60 minutes, with a preference for 35 or 45 minutes.
- The first time, an assessment comes before the session: together we look at what you are seeking.
- You lie down under the dome, your head staying in the open air.
- The heat rises gradually. It stays comfortable and is adjusted during the session.
- You perspire heavily: bring what you need to freshen up afterwards.
- Drinking water before and after the session is advised.

On which areas
- The whole bodyThe whole body in one session, under the dome, with your head staying in the open air. The heat works on the abdomen, thighs, arms and back at the same time.
What this treatment aims for
- Perspiration, across the whole body.
- Relaxation and well-being.
- Water retention, as part of a protocol.
- The appearance of cellulite and the quality of the skin, alongside other treatments.
I like the Vital Dôme because it lets you work the whole body in a real feeling of relaxation. Unlike a traditional sauna, infrared technology works with a different kind of heat and brings on substantial perspiration. It is a treatment I particularly like to build into our combined protocols.
This treatment, or another?
Several of our treatments support circulation. Here is how to tell them apart.
| Treatment | The technique | What it works on | Choose it if |
|---|---|---|---|
| Japanese sauna (Vital Dôme) | Infrared heat, no contact | The whole body, through perspiration | You want to work the whole body while relaxing |
| Pressotherapy | Inflatable boots, rhythmic pressure | Return circulation, with no manual intervention | You are looking for the same action, lying down and passive |
| Lymphatic massage | Very light manual movements | Lymphatic circulation | It is swelling and water retention |

Frequently asked questions
How is it different from a Finnish sauna?
A Finnish sauna heats the air around you; the Vital Dôme heats the body deep down using infrared. The perspiration comes from the whole body, and not only from the surface of the skin.
How long does a session last?
From 20 to 60 minutes depending on the protocol. We most often recommend 35 or 45 minutes.
Is the head under the dome?
No. It stays in the open air throughout the session.
